New Beginnings

After frogging the white sweater, I had the itch to start something new.  I have had this yarn for about a year and decided it was time to use it.

The yarn is Valley Yarn, New Hampton, in “pine”  I purchased it from WEBS.  It’s a really basic wool yarn that is SO soft and REALLY cheap.  You can find it here.

The pattern is “Bristow” and you can find it here.  I’ve had my eye on it for a long time and it’s finally going to get finished.  The pattern is so well written and leaves nothing to chance.  How can such a great pattern be FREE?

I have measured everything I can think of.  When I finished the back of the sweater, I took out one of my favorite cardigans and compared it to the one I was working on and lo and behold it is pretty close to the same.  That’s the only reason I decided to start on the front.

The back of the sweater is plain stockinette so it went really fast.  This picture shows the true color more than the others below.  It’s a basic hunter green.

This is the left front.  The patterned portion is really easy yet really striking.  Yes, the extra holes are part of the pattern!

Here’s a close up of the pattern.  I LOOOOOOOVE cables.

It hasn’t taken too long to get this far but I’m going to have to stop and do some Christmas knitting so I’ll have to put it away for a little while.  I’ll keep you updated.
